Permyriad

Permyriad is a rejected proposal for an immersive art experience at SFAI in 2017.

It's creation, submission, and rejection are a case study of how Aesthetic Capture functions.

Percent refers to 1 of 100 but, to deal with American wealth, a higher measure is required.

Permyriad refers to 1 of 1000.

Permyriad would have been the name of a Art Nouveau themed bar during the 2017 San Francisco Art Institute Gala.

Approaching the bar, guests would have entered their Adjusted Goss Income into a custom application on an Ipad.

They would then have been served a drink of their choice.

The volume of the beverage would have been a function of the permyriad (not percent) of their AGI releative to the United States population.

The proposal was rejected because the development staff at SFAI declined

to ask their donors to input personal financial information.

SFAI went bankrupt in 2023.

It's campus was purchased by Laurene Powell Jobs the next year.
